LIFE COACHING AND CONSULTATION
Are you enjoying what you appreciate most in life?
Are you living the life you had dreamed for yourself?
Is what you are doing today getting you closer to your goals and what you value most?
Do you struggle with barriers that block your path to living purposefully and meaningfully?
Do you feel like you are utilizing your strengths and realizing your full potential?
Perhaps what you need is not necessarily therapy, but some expert advice instead. You may not be seeking to alleviate psychological symptoms of distress or impairment in functioning caused by depression or anxiety. You could simply be having difficulty making a decision in an important area of your life, (relationship or business for example), or accomplishing certain short or long term goals. This is when life coaching can be very helpful.
Coaching is not therapy. Coaches don’t work on “issues” or examine the client's past history. They do not focus on resolving past traumas or attempt to diminish emotional pain. These are issues that are dealt with in psychotherapy. Coaching focuses on the present and future. In coaching the assumption is that there is nothing wrong with the client, but the client wants an even better life. The client’s agenda is the only agenda that matters. Coaching begins where psychotherapy leaves off.
My coaching approach is to help clients achieve their full potential and enhance their experience of living purposefully by inspiring and encouraging committed action, utilizing their strengths, celebrating their passions, listening to their inner wisdom and acting in a way that is congruent with what they value most.
Whether it is some quick expert advice on how to best handle a particular issue you may be struggling with or learning how to be more successful in a specific area of your life, a few coaching sessions may be all you really need. Although coaching can be shorter term, it can have long lasting, life changing benefits.
Coaching can be useful in areas such as: self/ professional growth, life transitions, relationships, academic/ educational goals, work stress, family/ interpersonal conflict, parenting.
